The Move.
I’ve been waiting for what feels like my entire life for this moment, and it’s here! Finally leaving my home state and moving from Florida to South Carolina.
The drive took two days (with stops and overnight rest) which we strategically planned so we wouldn’t over exert ourselves. Anthony’s Dad was kind enough to drive our U-Haul all the way up to help us move, thank goodness. I honestly can’t believe we even considered doing it alone without help before he offered, especially with a super energized toddler. We are beyond grateful.
We packed up last-minute boxes and furniture pieces until about 11AM Friday morning, then hit the road.
The first half of our trip took 5 1/2 hours, it didn’t feel like it to me though since I was on the phone almost the whole time, adulting, if you will (as shown in the above photo). Since it was a Friday, I was trying to set up “new move” essentials like electric, internet, insurances, etc. Even though it literally look probably 4 out of the 5 1/2 hours we were driving, I got it done.
Coffee and bathroom breaks were desperately needed just over halfway to our overnight destination. Addison ate a banana which she enjoyed greatly, then we got back on the road.
We stopped at the Dogwood Inn & Suites in Savannah, Georgia to get a night’s rest before the second half of our trip, the place was clean, quaint, and it was right next to the highway. Check, check and check.
The next morning, Anthony and I got up early to fly the DRONE! I know, long time coming. We finally got a drone to capture some awesome footage and we wanted the move to be the beginning of new angles and fun stuff on our vlog channel! We got a beautiful view of the sun rising, hit up the coffee bar in the lobby, then again, hit the road.
The second half of our two-day trip was only about a 4 1/2 hour drive which also included one or two short bathroom breaks.
The view was BEAUTIFUL. Anthony and I couldn’t wipe the smiles of our faces as we approached the Carolinas. Both of us like “Is this seriously our new home???” I love all the hills and the fact when you’re at the top of one, you can see the mountains in the distance (shown in the above photo).
The excitement and adrenaline we were experiencing as we pulled into our new building parking lot for the first time was unreal. Both of us seriously felt like we were going to poop our pants, sorry for TMI, ha! It’s so true though, we were feeling so many overwhelming exciting emotions. The below photos are a sneak peek. 😉
We have been planning, waiting and hoping for this since before we married, Anthony and I. We just couldn’t be more excited for this new chapter in our lives and we appreciate all the love and support we’ve had along the way.
Cheers to a new beginning!
